So we’re all stuck indoors in isolation, now what? For those who are finding themselves with extra free time on your hands, I say embrace it. Don’t feel bad about treating the time as a bit of a holiday or an opportunity for self-improvement. Sitting around stressed isn’t going to end the coronavirus pandemic any sooner.

I’m extremely fortunate to be able to work from home and have spare time to fill with various activities. So here’s how I’m making the most of a crappy situation and using my time in isolation…

1. Create

We’ve all heard the saying create before you consume, right? So I’m channelling my creativity energies into writing posts for my upcoming blog. Stay tuned.

2. Read

I’ve always enjoyed escaping reality with a good book. I’m currently reading, ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.’ When it was first released as a playscript I was disappointed. I wanted a traditional novel. But after having watched and loved the stage production in Melbourne I bought it as a souvenir.

3. Exercise

Every year one of my New Year’s resolutions is to exercise more. With the big 4-0 fast approaching now is the time to get serious about my health and fitness. I’ve dusted off my old Jillian Michaels dvds and found some free You Tube workouts. Aiming for five times per week.

4. Learn

I’m slowly making my way through all the HubSpot Academy marketing courses, and have my eye on a Google Analytics course. Also contemplating a graduate certificate in communications.

5. Play

We all need a little fun. As it’s just little old me in the bachelorette pad I’ve been playing a lot of Candy Crush – on level 1,348. Also been eyeing the Wii and the karaoke microphones. I just hope the neighbours don’t hear me, lol.

Whatever you’re doing during the isolation, stay safe, stay healthy, stay home.
